Volunteers Needed for Tree Planting in Ladd's Addition
Sign up to help with tree plantings - Ladd's Addition. Send an email to: planting[AT]saveourelms.org
Prior to Planting Day volunteers are needed to:
- Recruit more volunteers
- Mark locations for tree plantings.
- Pickup and then distribute new trees to various locations within Ladd's Addition.
- Organize Tools, Supplies and "New Tree Owners" info. packets.
On Planting day volunteers are also needed to:
- Help set up volunteer paperwork, tools & supplies.

Volunteers Needed for Elm inoculation Day - Ladd's Addition
Sign up to help with Elm Inoculation Day
Prior to injection day volunteers needed to:
- Put up signs on elm tree in inoculation area.
- Organize Food/Beverages for Volunteers
- Organize Tools and Supplies
On injection day volunteers are also needed to:
- 8:00 AM Distribute cases of inoculant through out injection area. A pick-up truck a definite plus.
Help set up Morning Coffee/Snacks, volunteer paperwork, tools & supplies.
- 11:00 AM Set up for Lunch and then clean up after lunch break.
- 4:00 PM Collect and remove trash and recyclable materials from inoculation area.
Inoculation Day Schedule:
- 8:30 AM Orientation & instructions. Volunteers meet on Ladd Circle in front of Palio's.
- 9:00 AM Inoculations begin.
- 11:30 PM (approx.) Break for Lunch.
- 12:30 PM Finish inoculating any remaining trees (if any).
- 5:00 PM (approx.) Clean up crew meet at Palio's.
It's easy to volunteer and you CAN make a difference.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Quarterly Newsletter and Smaller Tasks
Volunteering is a good way to help your neighborhood and to feel better about yourself. SAVE OUR ELMS needs your help
- Are you a writer or photographer?? Help is needed on the quarterly SOE email newsletter and the web site. Contribute an article or photo. Contact Matt at: newsletter[AT]saveourelms.org
- We need volunteers several times a year to stuff envelopes or distribute flyers, notices, and door hangers in Ladd's Addition; (it only takes 1-2 hours and your done).
- We are looking for people to help with grant writing and/or new ideas for raising funds.

That is the main focus of the SOE Board. We have a good working relationships with the City Forestry Department, HAND, Friends of Ladd's Addition Gardens and several other neighborhood groups throughout Portland. If you would like to know more or sit in on a board meeting contact:

Historic Home Tour - Is taking a hiatus in 2010
The Ladd's Addition Historic Home Tour is an event that has been highly anticipated each year. However, it has been more difficult over the past few years to find homeowners interested in participating. So it was decided to give everyone a year off. Hopefully this will result in renewed interest in 2011. If you have any ideas or comments about the historic home tour please send an email to: info[AT]saveourelms.org. Thank you.
